LIBAC’s Participation in the Liberian Organization of The Piedmont’s Fundraising Gala

I am pleased to share highlights from the recent Fundraising Gala hosted by the Liberian Organization of The Piedmont (LOP) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, an event organized for a worthy cause. The Liberian Community Association of Greater Charlotte (LIBAC) was well represented, as were other communities from across North Carolina and several organizations from around the country.
His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Liberia, was invited to attend this important gathering but was unable to participate due to extreme weather conditions. However, in his place, he appointed the Minister of Education, Mrs. Jallah, to represent him. Mrs. Jallah’s speech was both educational and impactful, delivering a powerful message that resonated deeply with the audience. It was clear that the President made an excellent choice in selecting her for this responsibility.
During the event, we had the honor of being taken on a tour of historic sites in Winston-Salem that highlighted the deep connection between the city and Liberia. One significant stop was at a street marker on Liberian Street, symbolizing this unique bond. Additionally, we witnessed the dedication of a one-acre plot of land, which was generously given to LOP for the construction of a dormitory that will serve Liberian students. This initiative speaks to the strong ties between our communities and the forward-thinking vision of LOP.
I would like to extend special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Sio, who graciously served as hosts and co-hosts for the event, ensuring that the evening was a resounding success.
Please see the attached pictures, which showcase our community’s strong presence and participation in this meaningful occasion.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we are making strides toward strengthening our community and building meaningful connections with our Liberian brothers and sisters across the region.
