My name is Ricks W Mensah and I am a Registered Nurse. My passion for health and human services led me to pursue a career in nursing approximately 20 years ago. My specific area of concentration is pediatric Tracheotomy, Gastronomy Tube and Ventilator care. I have been a practicing nurse in the state of North Carolina for the past 20 years. The continuous showing of gratitude by a large percentage of my patients brings me excitement and joy on a daily basis. I am a family man, marry to my nursing school sweetheart Mrs. Sayenoh Taplah Mensah who has been my partner for the past 34- 35 years. I am a proud parent of 3 children and 3 grand children My philosophy in life is to be the change that I wish to see in the world and to not allow others to change me. I served as former President of the National Maryland County Association of Liberia-USA, North Carolina Chapter. I am the current Nation Vice President of LACBRASKA(Liberian Association of Catholic Brother and Sister Knights in the Americas) I also serve as President of LACBRASKA local Chapter in North Carolina I am a former Board Member of LIBAC( Liberian Community Association of Greater Charlotte) and current President. Most times when I am no working, I am sitting home watching television and reading nursing journals. I love reading nursing journals because nursing. Journals can be a valuable source of continuing education and practical updates for me. They help me keep up with the latest developments in healthcare. I learn about new studies and find evidence to guide my practice. Nursing journals also help me understand how my role differs from other healthcare providers and can support my academic progress and career. For exercise, I like walking, riding my elliptical and weight lifting. My goal is to become an entrepreneur in the next 2-3 years in the republic of Liberia by God’s grace.

Greetings, I’m William Z Russ ll, a proud son of Anna Wiah and Hamilton C Russ born in Liberia who journeyed to Charlotte, NC in pursuit of my dreams. As a self-employed individual, I navigate the world of business with passion and perseverance. Beyond the boardroom, you’l find me immersed in the thrill of sports or a cherishing moment with my beloved family. My rock is Marion Russ, my partner in life’s adventures, and together we nurture a beautiful clan of four children -Marica, William, Marleen and Tiana. And let’s not forget about the newest addition to our family tree -my grandson Emile brings an extra sparkle to our lives. Faith is a core of my being, which is why every Sunday you’ll spot me at the University City United Methodist Church, finding solace and strength in community and prayer. Mercy Kofi-Lee

Mercy Kofi-Lee was born in Monrovia, Liberia.

She believes that everyone has a purpose in life for which God created them. Mercy, a preacher’s kid, accepted Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a very young age and was baptized. She later rededicated her life to Christ Jesus in 2016. She knows her purpose is to become a resource in many ways to others, helping them discover their existence, regardless of their background, upbringing, or culture. Her main focus is to help individuals become a better version of themselves in the eyes of their creator. Mercy is an alumna of Catawba College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration in 2011. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with a Concentration in the New Testament. She currently serves as Chaplain for The Librarian Community of Greater Charlotte. Additionally, Mercy is the founder of “What Is Life” and has initiated a dinner and chat event called “Marriage Caucus”, focusing on rebuilding relationships and marriages. Mercy is married to her childhood friend, Alton S. Lee, and their union is blessed with two children. Together, they are founders of the African Community Choir (aka the mass choir). Mercy has served in several positions in church and currently serves as a music teacher and assistant worship leader at the Mont Carmel church. Her favorite quote in life is “What Is Life”?

Dessay Gray

Dessay Gray (Daisy) is a highly motivated and results-oriented professional with a strong background in program coordination and project management. With a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University Of North Carolina Charlotte (2012) and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in healthcare informatics from Capella University(2023), Dessay has developed a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving continuous improvement. Her extensive experience in project management has equipped her with the skills to develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, effectively manage project risks and issues, and ensure alignment and integration between projects. As a dedicated professional, Dessay is driven by her motto “Hard work produces success.” She lives by values of Perseverance, Integrity, and Compassion, which guide her approach to every challenge she faces. In her free time she loves to read books and watch documentaries , Dessay aspires to secure a role as a Healthcare Administrator or Case Manager within the healthcare sector.

James Edmond Johnson

James Edmond Johnson is a multifaceted individual with a passion for making a difference in every aspect of his life. As the owner of a transportation business and a Managed Service Provider (MSP), James brings together his IT background and entrepreneurial spirit to provide top-notch services. In addition, he serves as an ordained Baptist Minister, inspiring others through his faith. With a strong sense of family values, J. Edmond is a family man with children and takes great pride in mentoring and training musicians. His personal motto “making a difference wherever you are” guides him in all that he does, whether it’s serving his God, community, nurturing his family, or pursuing his love for music. His past time features basketball, bowling, exercising, hiking, and traveling amongst many others

Marwin Garga-Gbenyon is a dedicated professional with over 25 years of experience in administration, finance, and accounting. She moved to Charlotte in 1989 and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Finance. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated her expertise and commitment to her work. In addition to her professional endeavors, Marwin is also a devoted mother of six and a faithful servant at church, where she serves as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and as a lead usher. When not tending to her many responsibilities, she can be found using her talents and abilities to mentor others or lending her leadership skills to her community.

For the past two years it has been an honor and a pleasure serving you all in the capacity as a member of the Board of Directors of LIBAC. Hello my Libac community My name is Gennether Banks. I am a wife, a mother of 3 adult children and a proud grandmother of 2 lovely grand kids. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte. At UNCC I option my bachelors degree in Sociology and a minor in American Studies. I am presently working on my Masters in Advanced Clinical Social Work.
As part of the Liberian community since 1988. I am still proud of being part of my Liberian community of the greater Charlotte even now. I am employed with Novant Health Presbyterian medical center for 19 years now. I work in the social work, case management department as a discharge facilitator. Part of my job is to provide resources for patient needs. In order to do that, I will need to identified all the different resources in the Charlotte and surrounding county areas.
I volunteer for the board member, because I know that I can help with providing resources for our community when there is a need for the members of our community. I am also here to encourage, and empower our people.
I believe the community that stand together are stronger in every way possible.

My name is Ramonita Banks-Johnson, and I am a highly motivated and well-organized individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the community and corporate sector. I have a degree in Computer Science as well as Paralegal Technology. I am eager and enthusiastic about undertaking new challenges and I know that I can be a valuable asset to my LIBAC community. During the past 20 years, I have been actively involved in diverse business industries with a concentration on community involvement. I have extensive knowledge in the banking industry for over 20 years with Wells Fargo. I have excellent communication skills and I am a Notary Public. I am honest and trustworthy in everything I do. Serving in the community and helping others to achieve and discover their dreams, goals and spiritual growth has always been my passion. I am the CEO and founder of Chosen Generation, an organization that touches the lives of mothers and young children. Outside of my professional life I am a devoted wife of Mr. Patrick Cheeseman Johnson and mother of 3 beautiful children. My dedication to my family and the community comes second only to my relationship with God. I am excited about this opportunity to serve the Liberian community of Greater Charlotte. I do understand the immense time and dedication necessary to become successful with the LIBAC family. In me you will find that I am ready to work tirelessly to ensure that internal affairs are conducted in a manner that is honest, efficient, productive, and will place the needs of our community front and center. Siah Jones, our dedicated Publicity Chair, has been a vibrant leader within the Liberian community in Charlotte for over two decades.

With an MBA in Healthcare Administration, she currently works as a project manager for the nation’s largest for-profit managed health care company.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Siah is passionate about uplifting the youth. She serves as the youth choir coordinator at North Davidson UMC and takes immense pride in being a loving mother to her son.

Her mission is to empower young women to align with God’s purpose, strive for excellence, and claim their place at any table they aspire to. Siah is also deeply committed to celebrating and promoting Liberian culture through its food, music, fashion, and heritage, both locally and as a media correspondent
