celebration for Liberia’s 177th Independence Day at our Family Day
Festival. The day was a beautiful showcase of our rich culture and
community spirit, bringing together Liberians and friends to honor our
heritage.
The festival grounds were alive with the sights and sounds of vendors
offering a variety of Liberian delights. Attendees enjoyed delicious
traditional dishes, shopped for authentic Liberian clothing and jewelry,
and savored local street food and drinks. The aroma of Liberian cuisine
filled the air, reminding us of the comforts of home and the flavors
that define our culture.
One of the highlights of the day was the raffle draw, where lucky
winners took home exciting prizes. But the heartwarming moment came when
our beloved First Lady, Mrs. Sayenoh Mensah, cheerfully distributed
gifts to the elders in our community. This gesture, made possible
through a generous partnership with Crisis Ministry, brought smiles and
joy to many faces. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Crisis Ministry for
their support and for helping us make this day extra special.
As the sun began to set, the festivities reached their peak with the
Grand March. This beloved tradition brought together all generations,
from young children to our cherished elders, in a spirited dance that
filled the evening with energy and joy. Our community’s love for dance
and music was on full display, as everyone moved to the rhythm,
celebrating our shared heritage and the freedom of our nation.
Thank you to everyone who came out to joyfully celebrate Mama Liberia’s
177 years of independence. Your presence and enthusiasm made the day
unforgettable, and we look forward to many more celebrations together as
a community.
